Learning the Universe: Computer Vision (Astrophysics and) Cosmology (PRETALK for students at 15:30 h)
Intensity mapping of multi-line fluctuations makes it possible to image the bulk of the observable Universe from Cosmic Dawn and Reionization to present times. Imagine hundreds if not thousands of measurements of cosmic radiative backgrounds. Deep learning and computer vision techniques are ideal candidates for optimal treatment of for example the background of 21cm fluctuations. I will sketch our road ahead for both intensity mapping and deep learning to survey the cosmic large-scale structure.
